Our Pastors

Josh & Amber Clark

Pastors Josh and Amber Clark became the senior pastors of Generation Church in August of 2012. Since that time, Sunday morning attendance has grown from the 60s to over 200. While we have seen great growth under their leadership, the Clarks don't take any of the credit. They believe what the Bible declares in Psalm 127:1 "unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain."

A North Carolina native, pastor Josh grew up around ministry. He is a third generation pastor. At the age of 8 he made Jesus the lord of his life during a children's church service and was baptized in the Holy Spirit just a few years later. He credits much of his ministry to being involved in a strong children and youth ministry. Pastor Josh, along with his wife, Amber, have a passion to reach the next generation with the gospel. Worship is also a high priority for the Clarks. Pastor Josh has served in many ministry roles over the past 15 years, including a church Financial Administrator and Worship Leader. He has played piano for most of his life, and has accompanied a wide range of ministers at various events and services, including Clint Brown, Martha Munizzi, Jesse Duplantis, Steve Brock, Jason Upton, and Eddie James.

Pastor Josh is an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God and has served on the state board, the Executive Presbytery. He loves education and has a passion for personal and professional growth. He holds Bachelor of Arts degrees in Spanish and Political Science from UNC-Chapel Hill, a Master of Theology from Nashville Bible College, a Ph.D. in Theology from North Carolina College of Theology, and a Doctorate in Sacred Music, also from NCCT.

Amber Clark has served as our Church Administrator since 2012. Under her creative leadership our children's ministry, Generation Kids, has grown from a small group of 8 to an average Sunday attendance of 60. Amber has a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from East Carolina University. She also has a Masters Degree in Biblical Counseling. She has served in ministry alongside Pastor Josh as a Church Administrator. She currently oversees ministries to Children, Youth, and Women. Amber spent several years as a therapist for children with special needs.

Our pastors have faced many challenges in the time they have pastored Generation Church. In 2015, while ministering in a church service, pastor Josh suffered from a ruptured brain aneurysm. The aneurysm caused a hemorrhagic stroke, the most deadly type of stroke, but by a miracle of God he made a full recovery. His recovery was remarkable enough that he ran the New York City Marathon in 2017. In 2018, as a precaution, he underwent brain surgery to seal the aneurysm and prevent future ruptures. Through this entire process he has stood on the promise of God in Exodus 15:26 "I am the Lord your healer."

The Clarks have been married since 2004. They have one son, Hudson, born in 2014.
